For those Microtek scanner models which did not include approved driver of Windows Vista from Microsoft, ScanWizard 5 V6.31 is the last version of scanner driver S/W that can support these scanner models to work under Windows Vista system through USB / FireWire connectivity.

The following information will show you how to download scanner driver S/W : ScanWizard 5 V6.31 from Microtek website, and then install it into PC Windows Vista system.

When you install or un-install a Microtek scanner software under the PC Windows system, the scanner can not be connected with the PC via USB cable or FireWire cable; otherwise, the driver installation or un-installation procedures will be affected. Please pay extra attention to this point of views.

Please follow the instructions below to install the Miroteck software under PC Windows system:
1. First of All, make sure that the USB / FireWire cable dose not connect the scanner with the PC; then, make sure your scanner has been turned off.
2. Make sure that you have removed the old version of Microtek scanner driver from your PC Windows system.
3. Download the new version of scanner software : ScanWizard 5 V6.31 from Microtek website at http://ww3.microtek.com.tw/eu/modules/tinyd0/index.php?id=2. After that, install this software into your PC Windows system.
4. To download Help file SW5Help V1.04 from Microtek website at http://ww3.microtek.com.tw/eu/modules/tinyd0/index.php?id=2. After that, install this file into your PC Windows system.
5. Turn on your scanner, and then connect the scanner with your PC via an USB / FireWire cable.
6. Restart your PC Windows system again.

P.S. : While you install ScanWizard 5 V6.31 under Windows Vista / XP / 2K system, the user shall log in with administrator's privilege.

You shall get the hot fix : KB902390 and KB922498 from Microsoft, and then install these two hot fix into Windows XP Pro 64 bit system, after that, Microtek scanner driver S/W for Windows XP or for Windows Vista will support your Microtek scanners to work under Windows XP Pro 64 bit system through USB / FireWire connectivity.

ScanWizard EZ offers three different User Interface, they are Easy Mode, Advanced Mode and Professional Mode respectively.

It is to skip lamp calibration for the second scan job or the other scan job, and speed up the image processing in ScanWizard EZ, please change the setting of Scan Quality to Speed in different User Interface ( Easy Mode / Advanced Mode / Professional Mode ) of ScanWizard EZ from Scan Mode in Preference Menu as follows.

ScanWizard EZ V2.60 or later version support Smart Calibration at " Calibration Setup " in User Interface, it can skip lamp calibration and speed up the scan sequence of scanner.

Microtek scanner driver S/W, ScanWizard EZ, will do lamp calibration after clicking a Overview / Preview / Scan to Button in User Interface, it is to assure the image quality of scanned image, the reason is because the color of scanned image is mattered with the brightness of light source in Carriage Assembly ( Scan Module ) of scanner. But if you change the setting at " Calibration Setup " to Smart Calibration, by this way, the scan sequence will skip the lamp calibration and speed up the scan sequence of scanner afterwards.

Or ScanWizard DI will report an error message as below picture after you click to launch ScanWizard DI in Windows system, if the Abbyy FineReader OCR Engine V11.0 is not installed into the same Windows system.

ScanWizard DI V5.02 is the latest released version of Microtek scanner driver S/W that can support Power Saving feature for ArtixScan DI 2015c and can support ArtixScan DI 2015c to work under under Windows 8 ( 32 bit & 64 bit ) / Windows 7 ( 32 bit & 64 bit ) / XP ( 32 bit & 64 bit ) system through an USB2.0 connectivity. When you do S/W installation or S/W un-installation under Windows system, the scanner can not link with PC through an USB cable connection, otherwise, the installation of scanner driver or the un-installation of scanner driver under Windows system will be affected. On the other hand, the installation and the un-installation of scanner driver S/W shall be with an administrator's privilege under Windows 8 / Windows 7 / Windows XP system.
